Become Partners with a Little Girl

February 10, 2011

Matt Chandler, himself fighting to survive brain cancer, first brought to my attention the heart-breaking story of Kate McRae. She was first diagnosed with a very aggressive form of brain cancer at the age of 5 in the summer of 2009 and her story has taken a difficult turn of late. Please go here regularly to keep updated so that we can pray for Kate and her family. Right now is an especially HARD season in their journey through this so I encourage you to support this family in any way that God leads you.

Their story is a hard reminder of what the theologians “white-wash” as living between the times, the “already” and the “not yet”. Paul does a better job of describing the groaning (as in the pain of childbirth) of living in this cursed creation which awaits its liberation in Romans 8. Perhaps a good text to read and reflect upon (as well as 2 Corinthians 4:16-18) after you have prayed for the McRae’s current situation.
